"London Bus Aunty Honored with Bus Stop in Her Name"

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) congratulated Nigerian-born nurse and social media personality Bemi Orojuogun, popularly known as "London Bus Aunty," for having a London bus stop named in her honor. NiDCOM Chairman/CEO Abike Dabiri-Erewa described this recognition as a significant achievement and a source of pride for Nigeria and its diaspora.

In a statement issued by NiDCOM Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa highlighted Orojuogun's journey as an example of how passion and authenticity can impact beyond Nigeria's borders. Orojuogun gained fame through her engaging videos featuring London’s iconic red buses, showcasing everyday life in the city.

She expressed her gratitude to Transport for London (TfL) for the honor, stating, “Bus Auntie have her own bus stop. My goodness, I’m very lucky.” TfL acknowledged the honor, emphasizing their appreciation for her contributions to the transport community.

Dabiri-Erewa encouraged Orojuogun to continue positively using her platform.
