NIGCOMSAT to Host Nigerian Satellite Week in 2026

NIGCOMSAT is set to host the second edition of Nigerian Satellite Week (NSATWK) on March 30-31, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria. The event will focus on satellite growth and other priority areas to boost the sector, as stated by Stephen Kwand, the head of corporate communications.

NSATWK 2026 aims to bring together strategic satellite operators across Africa to deepen discussions on satellite technology and establish Nigeria as a premier hub for satellite and digital infrastructure. The event is expected to attract senior officials, including cabinet ministers, defense leaders, and financial institutions, to foster commercial partnerships and support the next generation of space technology entrepreneurs.

Jane Egerton-Idihen, Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, emphasized the importance of Nigeria's sovereign space capabilities and the need for a comprehensive view of the next twenty years in the satellite industry. The event will also feature a gala night to recognize significant contributions to Nigeria's satellite economy.
