Abubakar Yusuf Appointed New Wazirin Kontagora

Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf has been appointed as the new Wazirin Kontagora by the Kontagora Emirate Council, following the death of his father, Justice Yusuf Tanko Usman, on July 4, 2026. The official approval for his appointment was granted by the Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Since the announcement, numerous congratulatory messages have been sent to Abubakar Yusuf, celebrating his ascension to this esteemed traditional position. Among those who expressed their admiration is Alhaji Nuhu Sani, the Associate Director of Administration & Human Resources at Blueprint Newspapers Limited in Abuja.

Sani, a long-time friend and course mate of the new Wazirin Kontagora, described the appointment as "very good and pleasant news," expressing confidence that Abubakar Yusuf will leverage his wealth of experience for the development of the Kontagora Emirate.
