NECO's Wushishi Honored with Traditional Title in Niger

On Thursday, during a ceremony in Minna, Niger State, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO), was conferred with the traditional title of Maji Dadin Gidan Mangoro. This honor recognized his contributions to community development.

The event also marked the commissioning of a newly constructed palace for the Mai-Anguwan Gidan Mangoro, attended by various dignitaries including traditional rulers, government officials, and NECO stakeholders. Wushishi stated that the palace was part of NECO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, emphasizing the Council's commitment to supporting host communities beyond its primary educational mandate.

He highlighted the importance of stable communities for effective educational systems and expressed gratitude towards the Gidan Mangoro community for their support. The palace symbolizes unity and cultural heritage, serving as a center for leadership and community organization, reflecting the enduring role of traditional institutions in promoting social cohesion.
