Niger Teenager Allegedly Kills Friend with Father's Gun

On March 1, 2023, in Suleja, Niger State, a tragic incident occurred where 16-year-old Boi Jacob Danladi, whose name is not real, allegedly killed his 15-year-old friend, Titu Joseph, with a gun belonging to Danladi's father, a known member of a local vigilante group. The shooting took place at the residence of another boy named Emmanuel, who was present during the incident.

Reports indicate that Danladi picked up the fully loaded gun and shot Joseph in the stomach at close range, resulting in his death. Following the incident, police personnel from the Maje division evacuated Joseph's body to Suleja General Hospital.

Danladi's father has been arrested for alleged culpable homicide due to negligence and has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna for further investigation. Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesman for the Niger State Police Command, confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday, noting that the case is under investigation pending prosecution.
