Nigeria Prepares for Enhanced 2026 Hajj Experience

The 2026 Hajj exercise will take place from May 13 to June 5, 2026, with Hajia Aishat Obi representing the South East at the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). The exercise aims to enhance the experience of Nigerian pilgrims through improved logistics, welfare, and coordination.

Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, noted significant improvements in accommodation arrangements, food logistics, and overall management compared to previous years. The commission has adopted a decentralized operational approach to empower regional management, which has led to faster decision-making and better responsiveness to pilgrims' issues.

The presence of NAHCON leadership on the ground has contributed to maintaining order and ensuring the welfare of pilgrims. The support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to provide world-class infrastructure and security for pilgrims, enhancing their experience during the Hajj.
