NAHCON Completes 2026 Hajj Return Airlift Successfully

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially concluded the return airlift of Nigerian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia after the 2026 Hajj exercise. The final flight, which will convey pilgrims from Zamfara State, is scheduled to arrive in Nigeria on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

This marks the successful completion of the return phase of the Hajj operations, which involved the transportation of thousands of Nigerian pilgrims to the holy land. NAHCON disclosed that 12 Nigerian pilgrims are currently receiving treatment for various health conditions in hospitals across Saudi Arabia, and arrangements have been made for their return to Nigeria upon discharge.

Ismail Abba Yusuf, the chairman of NAHCON, expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise and commended the support provided by Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima. The commission also acknowledged the contributions of state pilgrim welfare boards, licensed tour operators, aviation partners, medical teams, security agencies, and the media.

Preparations for the 2027 Hajj season have already commenced, with a nationwide circular issued on June 15, 2026, directing relevant agencies to begin preparatory activities.
