Nigeria Launches Third Evacuation Flight from South Africa

The Nigerian government has announced the commencement of its third evacuation flight for citizens stranded in South Africa due to a recent crisis. The flight, operated by Air Peace, is scheduled to depart from Johannesburg at midnight on Thursday, July 3, 2026, and is expected to arrive at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at approximately 5:30 AM on Friday.

A total of 271 Nigerians are set to be brought back home. Kimiebi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed the government's commitment to the welfare and protection of Nigerians abroad and assured that efforts to support affected citizens will continue.

This operation is part of the Nigerian government's ongoing efforts to ensure the safe return of its citizens impacted by the situation in South Africa.
