Nigeria and Canada to Boost Trade Relations in Toronto

Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, highlighted the need for enhanced collaboration between Nigeria and Canada to strengthen trade relations. This statement was made at a Lagos gathering organized by the Headies and hosted by the Deputy High Commission of Canada in Lagos.

Musawa is set to lead a Nigerian delegation to the Trade and Investment Summit in Toronto, Canada, which will also feature the 18th edition of the African Music Awards. She stated that the theme "Africa to the World" signifies Nigeria's representation globally through its music, culture, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the economic expansion aspect of this cultural celebration.

The Deputy High Commissioner of Canada in Nigeria, Carlos Rojas-Abulu, noted the existing strong connections in trade and education, including a significant Nigerian diaspora in Canada. High Commissioner David Sproulel added that the week-long celebration of Nigerian culture and music, alongside a creativity summit and trade summit, will further bolster trade relations between the two nations.
