Nigeria and China Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Nigeria and China have committed to strengthening their bilateral relations with a focus on trade, investment, infrastructure development, and emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy. This commitment was made during a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Abuja, where the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, received the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai.

Ambassador Yu congratulated Enikanolaiye on his appointment and expressed confidence in deepening the long-standing relationship between the two countries. The discussions reviewed the strong ties based on mutual respect and a shared commitment to development.

Both sides explored opportunities to enhance the Nigeria–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership through cooperation in various sectors, including energy, agriculture, education, and technology. The meeting coincided with the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nigeria and China, with both nations reaffirming their commitment to advancing a strategic partnership that benefits their peoples.
