Nigeria and China Strengthen Export and Energy Ties

Nigeria and China are deepening their export and energy partnership, as highlighted during the Nigeria China Invest Summit 2026 held in Lagos. The summit, organized by the Nigeria China Invest Club, aimed to build strategic partnerships for industrialization and job creation to sustain economic growth.

Dr. Chidi Ul, President of the Nigeria China Invest Club, emphasized the importance of private sector-led investments, particularly in critical sectors of the Nigerian economy.

The summit attracted Chinese organizations, including the China International Business Development Committee, which represents 40 million members, including 200 billionaires interested in infrastructure, agriculture, and renewable energy. Sarah Lee, Executive Chairman of the China Association for International Economic Cooperation, pledged support for local industrial development across various sectors.

The summit aimed to move beyond discussions to actionable partnerships, facilitating investments in agriculture, digital payment systems, and energy, ultimately improving livelihoods and economic conditions for local people.
