Nigeria Customs Service Announces 3,852 New Recruits

The Nigeria Customs Service, led by the Comptroller-General, has announced the final list of 3,852 successful recruits from a total of 573,680 applications. The successful candidates include 1,275 officers in the Superintendent Cadre, 367 in the Inspectorate Cadre, and 2,210 in the Customs Assistant Cadre.

The Comptroller-General apologized for the delays in the recruitment process, which he attributed to the high volume of applications and the Service's commitment to a credible selection process. The overall success rate was 0.67%, indicating significant competition, with nearly all states and the Federal Capital Territory represented among the successful candidates.

Women secured 839 positions, making up 21.8% of the total recruits. The Comptroller-General announced that recruitment would now occur annually, with the next exercise set to begin later this year.

He urged successful candidates to await official communication and warned against recruitment scams.
