NCS Volleyball Club Appoints Bethel Ogownma as Captain

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Volleyball Club has appointed Bethel Ogownma as the new captain ahead of the second phase of the 2026 Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League. Ogownma will be supported by Maryam Ibrahim as the first assistant captain, with Toyosi Abdulraheem and Verity Onyegwu serving as second assistant captains.

This leadership change was announced by Samuel Onikeku, Head of Sports at NCS, who noted it was necessary due to the addition of new players and the team's successful title-winning campaign last season. The NCS currently leads the women's standings after the first phase of the league.

Onikeku expressed gratitude to the previous captains for their contributions, particularly highlighting the team's unbeaten victory in the 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier League. Bethel Ogownma has previously won the Best Women’s Libero at the 2024 CGC Volleyball Premier League, while Maryam Ibrahim has received multiple accolades, including Best Outside Hitter and Best Receiver in various competitions.
