Nigeria Partners with Marss UK for AI Defense Tech

Nigeria is intensifying its defense technology initiatives by forming a strategic partnership with Marss UK Ltd and its Nigerian partner Mikopow Ltd. This collaboration aims to implement a multi-domain hybrid intelligence shield project, focusing on artificial intelligence-enabled surveillance systems and anti-drone technology.

During a high-level visit to Monaco, Minister of Defence General Christoph Musa, alongside senior ministry officials, reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to modernizing the armed forces through technology transfer and local capacity development. The discussions included the integration of advanced technologies to enhance intelligence gathering and operational response capabilities.

The proposed systems are designed to strengthen border security and facilitate rapid operational responses to complex security challenges, including insurgency and cross-border crime. The partnership aims to reduce dependence on external maintenance of security systems and develop a sustainable defense industry in Nigeria.
