Nigeria Makes Strong Bid to Host 2030 Commonwealth Games in Abuja

Nigeria is pushing to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Abuja, with a delegation led by National Sports Commission Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon Bukola Olopade making a strong pitch to the Commonwealth Games Federation. They emphasized Abuja 2030 as an opportunity to create a unifying legacy that aligns with the Commonwealth spirit.

Olopade highlighted the bid's focus on sport excellence, cultural exchange, youth empowerment, and leveraging Nigeria's creative economy. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also backed the bid during a London event.
