Israel Donates Medical Equipment to Nigeria for Healthcare

On August 26, the Israeli government donated the first batch of ambulances, medical equipment, and wheelchairs to Nigeria, aiming to strengthen the country's emergency medical response and healthcare access. The donation was facilitated through Israel’s national emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, and was formally received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Israel, Nkechi Ufochukwu, at the Port of Ashdod.

The consignment includes fully equipped ambulances, modern medical devices, and mobility aids, which will be transported to Nigeria for deployment in hospitals and emergency centers. Ufochukwu expressed gratitude to the Israeli government, describing the donation as a timely intervention that would significantly enhance healthcare delivery and emergency response capacity.

She noted the ambulances would improve the speed of patient transport during emergencies. The ambassador highlighted that this gesture reflects Israel’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s universal health coverage and strengthens bilateral ties in healthcare and humanitarian assistance.
