Nigeria's Non-Oil Exports Reach $6.1 Billion in 2025

In 2025, Nigeria achieved its highest formally documented non-oil export performance, with 281 non-oil products exported to 120 countries, generating $6.1 billion. Karim Ahmed, the Vice President of the World Trade Centre Abuja, announced these figures during the Premier Export Launchpad Bootcamp on Thursday.
He noted that this development indicates that Nigerian products are gaining access to international markets, but local businesses must improve their capacity to compete sustainably. Ahmed highlighted the importance of overcoming challenges related to market knowledge, standards, certifications, logistics, documentation, payment systems, and consistency.
He stressed that understanding market requirements is crucial for successful international trade. The Export Launchpad Bootcamp aims to help Nigerian businesses assess their readiness for exporting, identify viable markets, and understand practical export requirements.
Ahmed stated that the ultimate goal is to facilitate actual international transactions for participating businesses.
