Nigeria and Indonesia Strengthen Economic Ties

On a significant diplomatic visit, Indonesian Ambassador Mr. Bambang Suharto met with Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation. The meeting included discussions with Senat Abubakar Bagudu, Minister of State Dr. Dori Uzoka Anit, and Permanent Secretary Dr. Deborah Odoh.

The ambassador's visit was characterized as a reflection of the enduring partnership between Nigeria and Indonesia, emphasizing mutual respect and shared aspirations for growth within the Global South. Key areas of cooperation highlighted included trade, investment, budget management, economic diversification, and capacity building.

Ambassador Suharto expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to enhancing its long-standing relationship with Nigeria. The discussions also covered successful agricultural cooperation initiatives and plans for establishing manufacturing facilities in Nigeria.

Minister Bagudu praised the growing strength of bilateral ties and expressed Nigeria's interest in learning from Indonesia's economic transformation.
