Nigeria Reaffirms Commitment to BRICS Cooperation

At the 18th BRICS Foreign Ministers' meeting held in New Delhi, India, Nigeria's Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dunoma Ahmad, reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to BRICS cooperation. He spoke on the theme of aligning BRICS priorities with Nigeria's development agenda and highlighted Nigeria's leadership role in Africa and the Global South.

Ahmad emphasized Nigeria's efforts in economic diversification, technological growth, and digital innovation, as well as its commitment to sustainable development through the energy transition plan aimed at achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. He stressed Nigeria's support for deeper cooperation in trade, infrastructure investment, and climate action among BRICS nations.

The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to reforms that promote economic growth and fiscal discipline, with Nigeria ready to work with BRICS partners to promote an inclusive and balanced global order.
