NSITF and ISSA Enhance Social Security Collaboration

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and the International Social Security Association (ISSA) have reinforced their partnership to enhance social security and employee compensation systems. This collaboration was solidified during a meeting held on the sidelines of the 114th International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

The ISSA Secretary General, Marcelo Abi-Ramia Caetano, met with the NSITF delegation, which was led by Executive Director of Administration, Samaila Abdu, and included the Managing Director, Oluwaseun Faley. Caetano commended the NSITF for successfully hosting a regional conference in Abuja earlier in the year and acknowledged the commitment of Faley's management team to promote the growth and development of social security and employee protection across the West African sub-region.

The NSITF is set to host the ISSA conference on social security institutions across West Africa from April 22-23, 2026, focusing on strategies to expand access to social protection services in the region.
