Nigeria Attends 51st D-8 Meeting in Ankara, Turkey

Nigeria joined other member states at the 51st session of the D-8 Commission meeting held in Ankara, Turkey, coinciding with the 29th anniversary of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation. The meeting gathered diplomats and senior officials from member countries, including Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Bangladesh.

Suhail Mahmood, the Secretary-General of the D-8 Organization, reiterated the commitment to strengthening economic cooperation among developing nations. Nigeria, a founding member of the organization, was represented by Dunoma Umar Ahm, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The D-8 Organization aims to promote economic collaboration among its member states, which collectively represent a significant share of the world's population and economic potential. The Ankara meeting provided an opportunity for member states to review ongoing programs, assess progress, and explore new areas of cooperation to boost economic growth and prosperity across the D-8 region.
