Nigeria Launches 'Hire From Nigeria' Talent Export Campaign

On September 1, Nigeria launched the "Hire From Nigeria" campaign, an initiative to structure and expand the export of Nigerian talent to the global economy. The campaign is a collaborative effort involving the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, the Federal Ministry of Education, and is led by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment through the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP).

The initiative operates under the theme “Exceptional Talent, from Nigeria, for the World,” aiming to create a framework for verifying qualifications, streamlining recruitment, and increasing trust in Nigerian professionals among international employers. Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, stated that Nigerian talent is recognized globally and emphasized the need to build systems that enable Nigeria to benefit from this talent.

The initiative shifts Nigeria's approach from passive brain drain to active talent export, standardizing skills recognition and trade internationally. Key interventions include the revitalized Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme and the Digital Training Academy (DTA).
