Nigeria Urged to Blend Imports and Local Production to Meet 66m Fuel Demand

Olufemi Adewole, the Executive Secretary of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMA), emphasized the need for Nigeria to blend imports with local production to meet the daily fuel demand of 66 million liters. Adewole highlighted the importance of strengthening Nigeria's energy security and market transparency through a strategic mix of imported and domestically produced fuel.

He noted that a single supply source is insufficient, and a combination of domestic and international products is essential to ensure price stability and supply security. Adewole also stressed the significance of fair competition, regulatory frameworks, and investment promotion in achieving efficient and competitive fuel markets.

DAPPMA remains committed to collaborating with government institutions to enhance local refining capacity and ensure a robust petroleum product market in Nigeria.
