Nigeria and Niger Customs Collaborate to Enhance Trade and Border Security

Nigeria and Niger Customs, led by Nigeria's Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and Niger Republic's Director General of Customs, Muhammadu Yaqouba, have initiated efforts to clear transit bottlenecks and bolster cross-border trade. The collaboration aims to facilitate the movement of goods from Nigerian ports and airports to neighboring countries like Niger while ensuring national security and economic interests.

Strict measures are in place to prevent delays and sanctions for non-compliance. Both customs administrations are committed to enhancing trade with landlocked neighbors, including the Republic of Niger.

The visit also addressed security challenges, including terrorism and banditry, with a focus on joint efforts to combat these threats. The collaboration is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen trade relations and ensure efficient border operations.
