Nigeria and Poland Seek Strategic Partnership in Economy

Nigeria and Poland are actively exploring a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including the digital economy, defense, and agriculture. This initiative was discussed during a courtesy visit by Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, Dr.

Krzysztof Gawkowski, to Nigeria's Presidential Villa in Abuja. Vice President Kashim Shettima highlighted the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to deepen ties with Poland, noting that Nigeria's economic potential has been unlocked through liberalization of the foreign exchange market and removal of petroleum subsidies.

Shettima pointed out that Poland has shown comparative advantages in several industries, including shipbuilding and maritime economy. He expressed optimism that the partnership would yield mutual benefits, reinforcing Nigeria's position as a strategic partner for Poland in Africa, given its significant demographic and technological potential.

The discussions signal a new momentum in economic cooperation between the two nations.
