Nigeria's Gas Reserves Exceed 200 Trillion Cubic Feet

At the Niger State AKK Business Development Forum in Minna, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced that Nigeria possesses over 200 trillion cubic feet of proven natural gas reserves, positioning the country among the largest in Africa. He articulated the Federal Government's intention to utilize this gas not just for export but as a catalyst for industrial growth, energy access, employment creation, and national prosperity.

Represented by Alhaji Jibrin Ndace, Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Idris highlighted the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline as a crucial element of the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at enhancing domestic gas utilization and energy security. The pipeline, stretching over 600 kilometers, is expected to create thousands of jobs and attract significant investments.

Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership, the government is implementing reforms to improve economic efficiency and investment in the oil and gas sector, including the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative.
