Nigeria's Education Minister Advocates for Global Investment

Jack Acheme Alausa, Nigeria's Minister of Education, delivered the country's opening remarks at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Multiply Possibility financing campaign in New York, which Nigeria is co-hosting with Italy. He stated that Nigeria accepted this role due to its belief in education as a crucial investment for harnessing the potential of its youth and building resilient economies.

Alausa, through his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Ikharo Attah, highlighted Nigeria's domestic financing commitments for education through 2030, which reflect the federal system's scale and the determination to mobilize resources at all government levels. He noted that GPE partner countries collectively committed over $400 billion for education by 2030.

Alausa stressed the need for effective international partnerships to complement domestic efforts and urged stakeholders to support the forthcoming High-Level Financing Event. He reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to educational reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on expanding access and improving learning outcomes.
