Nigeria surpasses OPEC’s target for second consecutive month

Nigeria has exceeded OPEC's production target for the second consecutive month, according to the latest Monthly Oil Market Report. The country's output of crude oil reached a level above OPEC's target through direct communication with Nigerian authorities and secondary sources.

Nigeria's current production level represents an increase from June, making it the leading oil producer in Africa. OPEC's data suggests that global oil inventories could deplete significantly next year unless production is revived.

Saudi Arabia contributed to this increase, with a rise in production in July. Nigeria's Chief Executive of the Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Gbenga Komolafe, stated that the country's oil production surpassed 2 million barrels per day last month, attributing the increase to security operations and efforts to boost production.

Additionally, gas production in Nigeria has also seen a slight increase.
