Ochei Eyes Delta North Senate Seat Amid Sports Focus

Victor Ochei, the President of the Nigerian Tennis Federation (NTF) and former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has announced that he is contemplating a candidacy for the Delta North senatorial seat. He stated that he will respond to the growing calls for his candidacy at the appropriate time.

Ochei acknowledged the increasing appeal of the political position and the encouragement from stakeholders in the constituency. He assured that his future political ambitions would not conflict with his current responsibilities as NTF President, emphasizing that public service and sports development are interconnected.

Throughout his career, Ochei has been passionate about tennis and has invested significantly in youth development through various sports initiatives, including sponsorship of wheelchair basketball and support for Nigerian athletes in international competitions. He highlighted his commitment to grassroots sports through initiatives like the annual Village Unity Cup, aimed at fostering peace and unity among youth.
