Nigeria to Host 2026 CAF Awards, Tinubu Confirms

Nigeria will host the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards, as confirmed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a meeting with CAF President Patrick Motsepe. This announcement was made while Tinubu attended the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), led by President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, revealed the hosting rights for the annual event, which celebrates the best performances in African football. The 48th Ordinary General Assembly of CAF is scheduled for October, although the specific date for the awards has not yet been announced.

The 47th Ordinary General Assembly and CAF Awards will take place in 2025 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rabat, Morocco, respectively. Nigeria previously hosted the CAF Awards in 2017 and the Ordinary General Assembly 22 years ago in 2004.
