Nigeria to Host CAF General Assembly in November

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Nigeria will host its Ordinary General Assembly in November. CAF President Patrice Motsepe made this announcement during a press briefing in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He described Nigeria as “a proud football nation” and stated the importance of holding the assembly in Abuja. Motsepe emphasized that CAF aims to develop football across all 54 member associations on the continent.

He expressed disappointment over Nigeria's absence from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stating that the tournament feels incomplete without Nigeria and other notable teams like Cameroon. The CAF General Assembly is the highest decision-making body in African football, gathering presidents and representatives from the continent's member associations to discuss governance, competitions, and the future of the sport.
