Nigeria, US Strengthen Military Ties Against Terrorism

Nigeria and the United States are deepening military cooperation to combat terrorism, particularly through the Operation Hadin Kai initiative in the northeast. During a visit to the headquarters of the Joint Task Force North East in Maiduguri, Major General Claud Tudor, head of the United States Special Operations Command Africa, engaged with Captain Moham Goni and Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar.

They discussed the ongoing bilateral security cooperation aimed at strengthening counter-terrorism operations and military capabilities in the region. Major General Tudor commended the partnership, emphasizing the integration of U.S. special operations personnel within Nigeria's operational framework.

The discussions highlighted the need for additional technological capabilities to improve operational performance against terrorist groups. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to sustain collaboration, mutual trust, and shared goals to restore peace and stability in conflict-affected areas of the northeast.
