Ryan Masajedi Named New Coach for Nigeria Volleyball Teams

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has appointed Ryan Masajedi as the new technical adviser/coach for the national volleyball teams. The unveiling ceremony occurred on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

NVBF President Engineer Musa Nimrod announced that Masajedi will begin work with the national women’s team in preparation for the 2026 African Nations Championship in Kenya and will also lead the men’s team for their championship in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Masajedi's contract is for 12 months, with the NVBF complementing the support from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

He will also visit all six geopolitical zones to identify and nurture young volleyball talents. Masajedi expressed gratitude for the opportunity and committed to enhancing the development of volleyball in Nigeria, stating his intention to work with all national teams and build a sustainable development structure for the sport.
