Nigeria Secures Hosting Rights for 2028 ITTF Africa Championships

Nigeria has won the bid to host the 2028 ITTF Africa Championships, as confirmed during the annual general meeting (AGM) of ITTF Africa held in Tangier, Morocco. Out of 38 certified voters, 23 delegates voted in favor of Nigeria, while Tunisia received 15 votes.
The decision followed a competitive selection process between the two nations. The AGM also determined other hosts for continental tournaments, with Libya hosting the Cup, Algeria the Championships, Botswana the Youth event, and Nigeria the Para Championships in 2027.
For 2028, Nigeria will host the Championships, Rwanda the Youth event, and Egypt the Para Championships, while the host for the Cup remains undecided. Adesoji Tayo, President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), expressed gratitude for the delegates' confidence and promised a world-class tournament in Lagos, emphasizing Nigeria's experience in organizing major table tennis events.
