Mofoluwake Edgar Honors Dora Akunyili's Legacy in Lagos

Mofoluwake Edgar, the Executive Director of the Duke Shomolu Foundation, expressed that Nigeria would benefit from more leaders like the late Dora Akunyili during a stage play titled "Dora," which honored her legacy. The performance took place in Lagos and celebrated Akunyili's significant contributions as the former Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

Edgar emphasized Akunyili's bravery in combating counterfeit drugs and her role in empowering women. He noted the emotional impact of the play, particularly on Akunyili's family, including her son, Obumnem Akunyili, who was present.

The play was directed by Dr. Ogundeji and featured a special writer, Mustapha Sule, who highlighted the challenges faced by women in leadership.

Edgar called for more women to take bold steps in leadership roles, reflecting on Akunyili's legacy and the need for authenticity in storytelling. The event aimed to immortalize Akunyili's contributions and inspire future generations.
