Olaide Olabanji Critiques Nollywood Actors' Politics

Nollywood actor Olaide Olabanji criticized some of his colleagues for supporting politicians who have contributed little to Nigeria's development. In an Instagram video posted on Thursday, he expressed concerns about the wellbeing of Nigerians, particularly ailing celebrities, and the state of the healthcare system.

Olabanji condemned actors who do not use their platforms to speak against poor governance, warning that their children would also suffer the consequences of their inaction. He specifically criticized unnamed actors for assisting politicians in distributing food during election campaigns, questioning the effectiveness of the payments they received during the 2023 general elections.

He stated that supporting bad leaders contributes to the hardships faced by Nigerians today and lamented the lack of good hospitals, electricity, roads, and security in the country. Olabanji emphasized that many politicians do not utilize Nigerian hospitals for their healthcare needs, highlighting the disparity between their privileges and the struggles of ordinary citizens.
