Nigerian Army Ambushes Terrorists in Kogi State Operation

On May 10, 2026, the Nigerian Army executed a successful ambush against terrorists in Kogi State, specifically in the Adankolo Forest Reserve within the Lokoja Local Government Area. The operation was coordinated by troops from the 12 Brigade Quick Response Group under the command of Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi.

During the early hours of the operation, the troops engaged the terrorists in a gun battle, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists, while others reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds into nearby bushes. The troops recovered significant items, including two AK-47 rifles, one fabricated pistol, six magazines, 145 rounds of special ammunition, a motorcycle, three mobile phones, and 62,900 naira in cash during the operation.
