Nigerian Army and Benin Troops Conduct Joint Patrol

The Nigerian Army and the Benin Nation Guard executed a joint night patrol in Cotonou, aimed at curbing insecurity and deterring criminal activities in border communities. This operation, which took place on June 8, was part of a broader framework to enhance security and combat transnational crime in the region.

Security expert Zagazola Makama noted that the operation was successful, with no unusual occurrences reported during the patrol, which provided a visible security presence across the city. The joint patrol covered designated routes within Cotonou and reinforced collaboration between the security forces of both countries.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cross-border security cooperation and promote stability within the West African sub-region, addressing emerging security threats and safeguarding communities along shared borders.
