Nigerian Army Repels ISWAP Attack in Borno, Kills 16 Insurgents

The Nigerian Army successfully repelled a midnight ISWAP attack in Borno State, killing 16 insurgents in a counter-strike. Lt.

Col. Sanni Uba of the joint task force in the northeast operation, Hadin Kai, disclosed that the operation took place on February 9 following an earlier attack on a military base on February 5.

The troops, in synergy with civilian joint task forces, launched a counter-offensive along Komala, Axi Konduga, and Bukarti, leading to the neutralization of 16 terrorists. Additionally, 11 hostages were rescued, and a suspect believed to be an ISWAP logistic supplier was arrested.

The operation also resulted in the recovery of twenty bicycles, a large cache of logistic items, weapons, and supplies critical to terrorist operations. Furthermore, the troops apprehended a suspect conveying a large quantity of drugs intended for terrorists in the Bukarti Axi area.
