Nigerian Army Eliminates 38 ISWAP Terrorists in Borno

On a Saturday, the Nigerian Army, through the Joint Task Force OPHK, successfully engaged and killed 38 terrorists from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno. The operation took place at Fob Mandaragirau, where troops executed a coordinated ambush in response to an attack.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the media information officer at the Joint Task Force headquarters, reported that the troops received close air support, which enhanced their operational effectiveness. Following the engagement, eight bodies were recovered, with local intelligence confirming an additional 30 terrorist bodies along the withdrawal route, where evidence of blood trails and abandoned equipment was found.

The troops also recovered seven AK-47 rifles, eight magazines, four RPG bombs, and assorted ammunition. Notably, there were no fatalities among the troops, although one MRAP vehicle was hit by RPG fire, injuring personnel who were promptly stabilized.

The significant enemy losses triggered widespread jubilation among local communities, highlighting the sustained dominance of the OPHK troops in denying terrorists the freedom to operate.
