Nigerian Breweries Plants 340,000 Trees in Ogun State

Nigerian Breweries Plc, Nigeria’s foremost brewing company, has successfully planted more than 340,000 indigenous trees and restored over 350 hectares of degraded forest landscape at the Olokemeji forest over a period of five years. This initiative is part of the Olokemeji Forest Reforestation Project, which is implemented in collaboration with the Ogun State Ministry of Forestry and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).

The project aims to enhance environmental stewardship, contribute to biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, watershed protection, and sustainable ecosystem management. Uzodinma Odenigbo, the Corporate Affairs Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, stated that the initiative reflects the company's commitment to sustainability and ecosystem restoration, benefiting surrounding communities for generations.

Engineer Oludotun Taiwo, the Honourable Commissioner for Forestry in Ogun State, praised the collaboration between the Ogun State Government, Nigerian Breweries Plc, and IITA, emphasizing the importance of such partnerships in preserving forest resources and promoting sustainable development.
