Rep Moore Urges Trump to Address Christian Persecution

On Thursday, Rep Rilei Moore emphasized the severe persecution faced by Christians in Nigeria, calling for stronger American action to address the crisis. He stated that Christians have borne the brunt of violent attacks over the past two decades, particularly from the Fulani militia, which he described as a terrorist group.

Moore noted that Christians are disproportionately targeted, with incidents including the killing of pastors and priests, as well as the burning of schools and churches, especially during holy days, resulting in the deaths of approximately ten thousand individuals. He praised President Donald Trump for his willingness to defend Christians globally and expressed hope that this moment presents a unique opportunity to strengthen U.S.-Nigeria relations in confronting insecurity.

Moore also acknowledged the need for the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Tinubu, to demonstrate political will in tackling security challenges.
