Nigerian Correctional Service Warns Against Fraudsters

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has alerted the public against fraudsters who are using the service's name and logo to perpetrate scams. In a statement issued on Saturday, signed by Chief Superintendent J.

N. Osuji from the Public Relations Office, the NCoS warned that scammers are distributing fraudulent documents titled "Payment Mobilization Request Form" and soliciting payments from victims under false pretenses related to contract awards.

The NCoS clarified that it operates strictly according to federal government regulations and does not demand upfront payments or mobilization fees from contractors. The statement emphasized that individuals should be wary of fraudsters impersonating senior officials on social media platforms, offering fake contracts and requesting deposits into private bank accounts.

The NCoS urged the public to report any suspected fraudulent activities to law enforcement agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigeria Police Force.
