Nigerian Government Launches ₦10bn Housing Loan Scheme

The Nigerian government has approved a ₦10 billion housing loan scheme designed to enhance access to home ownership for civil servants across the country. Didi Walson-Jack, the head of the Civil Service, disclosed this information during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday.

The scheme will be implemented by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Government Staff Housing Loan Board, aiming to improve the welfare of civil servants. Walson-Jack emphasized that home ownership plays a key role in boosting worker morale and efficiency, as it provides a secure living environment.

She noted that the initiative is part of a broader reform agenda reflecting the administration's philosophy of prioritizing worker welfare.
