Nigerian Government Enhances Army University Capacity

The Nigerian Government is reinforcing the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) as a key institution for developing specialized manpower to tackle the country's security challenges. This initiative includes commitments to infrastructure development, military education, and defense capacity building.

General Christopher Musa (Rtd), the Minister of Defence, made this announcement while meeting with the University’s Governing Council in Abuja, where he reiterated the government's dedication to transforming NAUB into a premier center for military and civilian education. He highlighted the importance of specialized education in national defense and announced plans to maximize the 30 percent admission quota for military personnel.

The meeting also focused on accelerating infrastructure development, including the establishment of a Centre for Military Performance Management, the first of its kind in Africa, aimed at enhancing research and operational analysis in the defense sector. The university will also expand educational opportunities for ministry staff and civilians in technology and security-related fields.
