Nigerian Government Commends Suspension of Oyo Teachers' Strike

The Federal Government of Nigeria expressed its approval of the suspension of the teachers' strike in Oyo State, which was announced by Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education.

This suspension follows sustained engagement between the Federal Ministry of Education, the Oyo State government, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) at both national and zonal levels. In a statement issued by the Minister's Director of Press and Public Relations, Mr.

Folasad Boriowo, it was noted that the resolution of the strike is a significant victory for dialogue and a step towards restoring uninterrupted learning for students. The Minister commended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for his role in resolving the dispute through dialogue and appreciated the leadership of the NUT for their efforts towards an amicable resolution.

Dr. Alausa reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to ensuring that children have uninterrupted access to quality education despite security challenges in parts of the country.
