Nigerian Government to Build Fire Stations in 109 Districts

The Nigerian government, through the Federal Fire Service, is set to establish fire stations in 109 senatorial districts across the country. This initiative was announced by Dr.

Olumod Samuel Adeyemi during a visit to the Singer Market in Kano State, where he assessed the aftermath of a fire incident that occurred on February 14. The establishment of these fire stations aims to mitigate fire disasters, enhance safety, and protect lives and national assets.

Dr. Adeyemi conveyed the message of sympathy from the Minister of Interior, Dr.

Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, to the people of Kano State, particularly the traders affected by the fire, which caused losses worth billions of naira. The plan includes collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for crowd control during emergencies.

Additionally, measures will be taken to improve public education on fire safety and compliance with safety standards.
