Nigerian Navy Launches Clean Water Project in Niger

On July 8, 2026, the Nigerian Navy inaugurated a clean water project in a Niger community, specifically in the Lapai Local Government Area of North Central Nigeria. This initiative, part of a special intervention quick impact project, features a 35,000-liter elevated water storage tank, an industrial solar-powered borehole, and an extensive water reticulation system.

The project was undertaken in honor of Rear Admiral Moham Adamu Muy, who is associated with the Naval War College Nigeria and supports his hometown. During the commissioning ceremony, Rear Admiral Muy expressed gratitude to the Chief of Naval Staff for facilitating the project, which aims to provide essential infrastructure and improve the quality of life for the community.

He urged community leaders and residents to protect the facility from vandalism and to establish effective maintenance mechanisms to ensure its long-term sustainability, enabling future generations to benefit from reliable access to safe drinking water.
