Nigerian Navy Launches Community Projects in Cross River

The Nigerian Navy commissioned a 250-capacity multipurpose town hall and two solar-powered boreholes in Kutia Village, Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State. This initiative aims to improve community infrastructure and strengthen civil-military relations, executed under the Chief of the Naval Staff’s Special Intervention Quick Impact Project.

Vice Admiral Idi Abbas was represented by Rear Admiral Steven Ibrahim, Chief Staff Officer of the Eastern Naval Command, who emphasized the Navy's commitment to enhancing the well-being of host communities. Rear Admiral Clement Atebi, the project facilitator, described the town hall as a center for community meetings and youth empowerment.

The Paramount Ruler of Obudu, Utsu Felix Okudare, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, highlighting its potential to foster peace and social cohesion. The Quick Impact Project was launched in 2024 to support community development and strengthen civil-military cooperation, benefiting residents with improved access to safe drinking water and enhanced public health.
