Nigerian Navy Enhances Maritime Security Cooperation in Gulf of Guinea

The Nigerian Navy formally handed over a refitted vessel to the Benin Navy and began discussions with the navies of Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Congo to enhance maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea. Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shehu emphasized the project's alignment with regional security frameworks and the importance of collaboration to combat maritime threats.

The collaboration aims to establish a joint maritime command center for operational coordination. The Nigerian Naval Dockyard Limited is also providing technical support to strengthen partnerships and sustain fleets in the region.
